I was thinking, you should probably just remove all tech pages. Because 90% tech pages do not exist. How about providing all information about a tech in the unit schematic page? And now kixeye updated the arms cache so we can see what unit the tech belongs to, nobody would need to see what tech belongs to what unit.
Hi again, finally i have a little preview, haha i stopped by having some issues with a lot of images, now i correct it like a month ago and started work again, i make a nice algorithm to transmorf the sprite sheets into playable sprites actually i have some many bugs but this is the new version, glad and thank you a lot for your time and dedication BehindTheEight, here it is:
You guys don't want me to use the word Wikia anymore?
I thought you guys would like having your brand as part of the name.
I also thought it added a little more credibility to the accuracy of the wiki since basic wiki's tend to have a bad rep of being inaccurate due to the general public have the ability to edit them I thought calling it a wikia ( a wiki typically edited by fans of a topic ) would help separate it from the bad conditions.
I guess I can abandon the twitter account, I haven't utilized it very much anyways.
But I'm tempted to revert back because removing the A really throws off the spacing of the headers and the symmetry of the watermark, that look terrible like that.
I think think I will revert back at least until I can get time to revamp the Watermark.
You have spent your effort and skills to keep this wiki and the gain alive. It is still running and running well for over six years, well after the age of Ville games such as Cityville.
Although I could be able to help you with some content, my gameplay level is probably too low for me to make any reasonable progress. I am also not a coiner. I helped create the pages for the Siege Squadron and the Ravagers.
Hey BehindTheEight. I have filled out some preliminary info for the signature Operation: Espionage prizes: the Caretaker and the prereleased Polly ( Single Use ). Unfortunately, I am only able to provide preliminary information, and I am currently working on to create a program which can convert it into a template you use.
I hope you are able to fill out the remaining information and images for the two units, as well as provide a detailed play information for the event.
Thank you for continuing to support this wiki. Keep up your good work in keeping that wiki up to date and clean, and I might be able to help you out with more information. I am a Candy Crush Admin who also extracts similar information and puts it onto its wiki, and I am soon going to migrate to the Candy Crush Soda Saga wiki, which already showed symptoms of being out-of-date.
Hey BehindtheEight! I'm Jamie from FANDOM's Community Development team! Not sure if we never asked you if you are interested in turning on the Discussions feature for this community, and migrating the Threaded Forums across as well.
In case you are unaware of the feature, Discussions was introduced last year to help communities engage with users and fans. It lives in its own space on the wiki and allows users to interact with other members of the community. It is also mobile friendly and gives mobile users a chance to contribute and engage with the community, and possibly turn them into wiki editors as well. Discussions also links with our FANDOM Apps, which this community has and it allows app users to easily take part in Discussions as well. You can read more about Discussions here.
For more information on migrating forums to Discussions, you can check out this blog over on Community Central that explains everything in detail.
If you have some concerns, Discussions, and Forums can exist side-by-side in case you do not want to migrate just yet. However, eventually all Forums will be migrated over to Discussions and Forums will be sunsetted as a feature, so getting ahead of the curve is never a bad idea.
Feel free to have an open discussion with your community about this, and I'm available for any questions you might have. Have a good one!
Hi there! Checking in again. We'd love to get this ball rolling so let's say that if I don't hear back from you by the end of the month (Jan 31) I will go ahead and enable discussions here and on the app. Forums will be left as they are.
I am Mulliganaceous, and I have tried out this game over six years ago, back in SEP 2011. However, I first played this game for real in 2015, though I did take a two-year break. Nevertheless, I have tracked the wiki ever since WC came out, and this has been the first game I have played in the long term (the other is Candy Crush Saga, which I first tried in 2013).
I recently returned to the game, though I am only a Level 33, and I must go back to previous events in order to fill up the missing information. Also, the most recent events have a lot of missing information. Since you played this game for a much longer term, you are able to extract more content without relying on F12 and close analysis of encodings and internal workings in this game.
I am impressed about how much you contributed during your free time. You also showed good photo formatting and extraction skills (this is also the first game I extracted, and I am also the one to extract large rank pictures, albeit under an anonymous name), to the point that you practically rule the wiki. I wonder how you could extract so much information and pictures in regards to new units and events? Which things can you extract just by using F12? How long does it take to extract the information for each page (It will depend on whether it is a unit, event, base, or other mechanic)?
Similarly, I am an admin, soon to become bureaucrat for Candy Crush Wiki, and I am the one responsible for extracting all the information of level configuration files and encodings for each of the levels. I wrote a program worth thousands of codes to extract each level, and the total program took up several megabytes of disk space (due to the configs), and up to a hundred megabytes of memory while my program is extracting all configs. As I am diversifying my interests and contributions, I am able to help you in information extracting, filling up the information, and making template creation easier in order to keep this wiki up to date.
Since WC is more hardcore, and may pressure casual players more than CCS, it obviously have much less players than CCS. WC peaked at around 5M monthly active users, and is still running strong today, while CCS got over 150M monthly active users. Nevertheless, the CCS forums (King Care) is poorly designed, and the WC forums are still going strong.
I hope you can fill out the remaining information in your free time, and that I can help you in filling up and obtaining information for the wiki.
I have all the info, screenshots and so forth for all the recent events I just haven't gotten around to the pages with so much else to keep up with.
I don't know what F12 does...
I figured out a really simple way to get the game images but I don't think Kixeye would be happy if I spread that method around. I think it actually violates the user agreement.
How long it takes to collect? Well, that depends on what the subject is. I have to upgrade every unit and building whether I want to or not to get the info for each level and that can take days, weeks or months. What sucks is when they do a stat restructure after I have collected the info... You can't go back and see the info again after you pass that level. This is why some pages now have blanked out tables because I know that the stats were changed but I haven't found a way to go back and get the new info ( easily that is ).
Plus I tend to overstock pages with info... like the History of Availability section on units. The event shop, gear store and so forth change what they offer so much that that that info has gotten far behind ( although I have it all the info I just don't have the time to put it on the pages ).
When I do base layouts I do them in FULL SIZE ( 4,000 x 2,000 ).
I have all the FULL BACKGROUNDS on the wiki if you want to use them then cut out parts of screenshots with stuff showing and add the parts on top of the backgrounds.
Here are the full size backgrounds ( 4,000 x 2,000 ) : ----> HERE
NOTE: All Layout Images ( Full Screen Screenshots ) should be file type .jpg.
jpg files are a LOT small in size therefore easier and quicker to load up for users.
I use GIMP for everything and I have Templates that I can just turn things on and off ( like labels ) that makes doing things faster.
The reason I kind of stopped doing them for bases like the Thorium Compounds is because there are 5 or 6 layouts for each Level 80 & Level 65. Which is ok but they keep making changes which means I have to seek out and find each layout AGAIN and redo them. This would be easier if they would at least tell us when they do the changes.
I am WAY behind doing the Unique Rogue Base pages, so many seem to come out.
QUESTION : What do you mean you will be working on optimizing template later?
Before you make any major changes to things PLEASE speak with me first. Thanks.
