Snipers were the slowest units in the game. After the Level 10 upgrade, their speed doubles.
Inside a bunker, the Sniper can outrange a fully upgraded Hellfire Tank.
As of November 28, 2012, Snipers have had their space requirement reduced from 60 to 50.
If you bunker a level 11 Sniper, it's range rises from 410 to 574. That's 99 more range than a level 11 Hellfire (475) making it a threat to the hellfire as it has fairly high DPS and the Hellfire has low health.
Snipers are usually in bunkers to prevent baiting from attack dogs and to add to their range.
Snipers in real life would have a Ghillie suit, while the ones in War Commander are wearing some type of Haz-Mat suit.
