Scrap Parts are acquirable currencies that can be acquired from either completing Tier 3 of Shadow Ops or by completely destroying Event Sector Bases.

Scrap Parts can be used (provided the player has acquired the necessary amount) for the purpose of upgrading a unit to a new tier of power, either Elite or Omega, which unlocks a new track of upgrades for the players to work through, often with additional benefits that come from performing such upgrades.

(E.g., the Omega upgrade for the Elite Titan allowed the unit to deploy additional drones, as well as deal more damage.)

How to use:

Elite Upgrade:

In order to upgrade a unit to the Elite power Tier, a player would be required to collect the required number of Elite Unit Scrap Parts and combine them with a max level standard Unit, as well as pay a resource fee of Metal, Oil, and Thorium, in order to upgrade the unit in question to the Elite Power Tier and unlock the next set of upgrades (levels 21 through 30.)

Omega Upgrade:

In order to upgrade a unit to the Omega power Tier, a player would be required to collect the required number of Omega Unit Scrap Parts and combine them with a max level Elite unit, as well as pay a resource fee of Metal, Oil, and Thorium, in order to upgrade the unit in question to the Omega Power Tier and unlock the next set of upgrades (levels 31 through 40.)
